I'm hoping someone can help me out here. My Internet connection blocks
gaming websites, so I'm unable to find any walkthroughs.

I'm stuck in the firefighter level. So far, I've aquired the ruby and
emerald statues and placed them in the proper location in the small
room with the paintings. I have not found the blue statue. I'm also
assuming I need to blow up a wall in the hallway outside the statue
room, but I can't figure out how. I've also move the monolith thing
and aquired the guild spell and the C4 explosives, however, I do not
have the detonator.

I've retraced my footsteps and defeated all monsters I've come accross
(except for trappers), I just can't figure out what to do next. Thanks
in advance for any help here.

Bad news, Optimusq. Like the ruby effigy, the sapphire effigy has to be
found in a previous level in order for the ghost to hand it to you in this
later level. You don't need it to finish, though, and the explosives are
for something else.

The sapphire effigy is found in chapter 8 - the forbidden city. It's on a
ledge in the corridor that leads into the round room with that key on a
little island surrounded by a moat of lava. It's invisible, but you might
notice your controller rumble slightly as you walk past it. I think that
it's supposed to go visible when you cast the spell to reveal the bridge to
the key. If it doesn't then do a spell just for it, while in front of the
ledge. (I think a green 3-point one does it but I forget.)
If you have all three effigies in the firefighter chapter then they open a
secret stairway that leads down to a room with "the enchanted gladius".
This gladius ends up in the hands of Alex for the final fight, making life
easier for her. It isn't essential though.
Anyway... You haven't yet examined all the corpses in the firefighter
level. If you're in the effigy room then you're quite close to where you
need to look. Save before you set off the bomb.
I think that you might as well finish off the game instead of starting
again. Get all the effigies next time round. This excellent game is well
worth a good few replays.

Thanks for the reply, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. In
the hallway outside the effigy room, I had not used a powerful enough
version of the Reveal Invisible spell. I cast it again with the
7-point circle and then I was able to see the hidden door. After that,
the rest of this level was pretty straightforward.

I'm (or Alex anyway) now off to the Ancient City. There is a room
(after activating one of the towers), that has purple lines running
through the floor. After Alex steps on it, a hallucination of a huge
worm thing appears and everything goes black and white. The exit is
also blocked at this point, and her sanity drops way down. If I
recover sanity, everything goes back to color, but Alex is transported
back to the platform she originally arrived on. Any hints on how to
get out of here? I tried using the shield spell with the green rune
and sending trappers ahead of me, but nothing seems to work.

Tip-toe softly so as not to cause a stir? (Seriously.)

Alright, I'm an idiot. :)

I made it to Pious, although I didn't have much time to keep playing
the game. Hopefully, I won't have to ask any more questions. Thanks
again for the help.

No problem. It's nice to see that the Cube still has some life in it.
