Skies of Arcadia Legend - Maw of Tartas

I am having no luck in finding the Maw of Tartas and am stuck. I tried
gamefaqs, but what I found was very cryptic. I have flown all over the
coast of the Valuan continent on the Western side (I can't get
through the Dannel Straits) but haven't been able to find a thing. One
site gave a coordinate of 9,5 but no luck.

Anyone have any specific thing I should be looking for? (The fact that it
is dark around the continent doesn't help).

trouble finding it too. I suppose you already checked this map on gamefaqs?

Yeah I have that map, but nowhere does it say how to get under the
coninent to get to it. I think you have to come from underneath it.

Well, I know that there was someplace you had to enter from beneath, but I
don't remember what it was. I did a little search and found this out, maybe
it will help... I hope you finish the game because it was very enjoyable...
apart from all the frustration that is.

"Hug on the west side of the North Ocean and fly over an
island to find the Lighthouse Ruins Discovery. Keep on the western side and
look for an island by the dark, gray rift for the Giant's Hammer Discovery.
Now fly into the Valua Region and explore around here until you find the Maw
of Tartas."

Yeah I found it that way, once someone had suggested the Northwestern
side, I noticed I could get to it from the north sea. DOH!!! I spent
two and a half hours wandering around too.

Haven't finished the game yet, just got enough gold to fix up the
Delphinus.
